True Masters of the Craft

S.M Bespoke is the product of Akith Dissanayake and Charlotte Jensen’s enduring passion for handcrafted, artistic expression. We are committed to traditional tailoring practices which transcend our custom garments and influence everything that we do.

We value quality, timeless styles, natural materials, inclusivity, and a sustainable approach to fashion.

By creating bespoke designs, we believe in enduring quality, rather than just encouraging consumption and throw-away culture.

We approach clothing using the best raw materials available, paying close attention to detail, and achieving the perfect garment through processes of fittings and discussions about design.

All our custom suits are made with traditional handwork combined with modern style – slimmer shoulder padding and a more defined waist – to create a look that balances contemporary and timeless.

FAQ

Yes, aside from our drop-in hours (11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays), we do not keep fixed store hours. We work by appointment so that each client receives the attention they deserve. We’re happy to accommodate same-day fittings whenever space is available, so don’t hesitate to call or email us, even at the last minute. With advance notice, we can generally accommodate appointments any day of the week and at virtually any time of day — just ask!

First-time custom shirt orders take 10-12 weeks: 5-6 weeks for the initial test shirt and a further 5-6 weeks for the finished shirts. Subsequent orders take approximately 5-6 weeks.

First time custom suit orders take 12-14 weeks: 6-7 weeks for the basted fitting followed by an additional 6-7 weeks for the finished garment. Subsequent custom suit orders take 6-7 weeks.

These delivery times are estimates only and vary on a case by case basis. Expedited service with guaranteed delivery time is available for an additional charge.

Once a bespoke order is placed and a deposit is paid, we immediately order your fabric. For this reason, if you decide to cancel a garment or change the fabric after it is ordered, there is a restocking fee of 25-35% of the garment cost.

Once a garment has been cut, no modifications can be made to the order.

All Gift Cards are final sale and non-refundable

Yes, absolutely. If you are not thrilled with the fit of your bespoke garment (and you tell us within six months of the garment being made), we will either alter it to fit your needs or remake it once free of charge.

Because our garments are specially made for each client, we cannot accept returns or give refunds (unless of course we made an irreparable mistake, which is exceedingly rare but mistakes do happen). For more information, please contact us.

If you’re an existing client and send a friend to us, your referral will receive 10% off his first order by mentioning your name. Better yet, you’ll get a credit equal to 10% of his or her order value.

Referral credits apply exclusively to new orders and are non-transferable.

At S.M Bespoke, we embrace ethical standards.

We are an Edmonton-based business that aims to provide luxury garments with a radically transparent supply chain, and a sustainably and ethical approach to clothing. Read more about our environmental, social, and economic considerations.

Environment.

We approach tailoring with a fundamental desire to protect our natural world. We understand that sustainability and consumption do not easily go hand-in-hand, but our design and construction process challenges us to work hard to achieve the most sustainable processes we can.

It is impossible to separate conscious design from conscious production, and this is where our consideration for human lives and conditions come into play. Millions of people are still forced into low paid labor under horrible conditions and this has no place with S.M Bespoke.

Social.

Economic.

At S.M Bespoke, we have nothing to hide along our supply chain. We co-own our workshop in China and we have personal relationships with our fabric providers.
